Product Description

The Guarded Hot Plate Thermal Conductivity Tester measures steady-state thermal conductivity of low to medium conductivity materials such as plastics, glass fiber composites, and polymer foams. It employs a guarded hot plate architecture with precisely controlled hot and cold plates to establish a stable one-dimensional heat flux through a flat specimen, enabling accurate calculation of thermal conductivity from measured temperature gradients and applied power.

The system supports operation with thermostatic water baths for both heating and cooling, and offers a variant with an electric-heated hot plate for elevated temperatures while the cold plate can be cooled below ambient. Digital temperature measurement with high accuracy ensures reliable results. Typical users include materials testing laboratories, research institutes, university labs, and industrial QC departments.
