The GHC-II measures the specific heat capacity of solid materials at elevated temperatures using the mixture (drop) method with automated data acquisition. It is suited for research and teaching applications requiring precise Cp measurements across a wide temperature range with inert protection for oxidation-prone samples.
Product Description
The GHC-II High-Temperature Specific Heat Capacity Tester determines the specific heat capacity of solid samples by heating a specimen to a set temperature in a vertical tube furnace and dropping it into a calorimeter, while the system records the temperature changes of both the specimen and calorimeter. The instrument integrates a vertical tube furnace, thermostat, temperature controller, high-precision thermometer, calorimeter, and a computer-based acquisition and control system.
Furnace configurations accommodate different temperature regimes: resistance wire heating up to approximately 1000°C, molybdenum wire heating to around 1700°C, and graphite tube furnace for temperatures above 1700°C. For samples that oxidize at high temperature, the system supports inert gas protection (argon) and can be equipped with a vacuum system to ensure measurement integrity.
