High-Temperature Contact Angle Analyzer

Published: 8/24/2021

High-Temperature Contact Angle Analyzer GFT measures wettability and contact angles of metals and inorganic materials under controlled high-temperature conditions. It captures real-time silhouette evolution during sintering, softening, melting, and liquefaction to support surface tension and wetting angle calculations.

Product Description

The GFT High-Temperature Contact Angle Analyzer is a transmissive imaging system designed to evaluate interfacial wetting behavior and contact angles of diverse materials as temperature changes. During programmed heating, the instrument continuously monitors the sample profile from sintering through liquefaction, while synchronously recording images with associated temperature and height data for post-analysis.

A CCD-based imaging module displays live profiles on a computer, enabling dynamic data acquisition throughout the heating cycle. The system offers high temperature measurement accuracy and repeatability, making it suitable for R&D laboratories assessing high-temperature material properties and for routine testing in industries such as metallurgy, chemicals, power generation, and coal.

Temperature control is microprocessor-driven with a predefined or manual control curve using a Type-B thermocouple positioned in the furnace wall. The illumination system provides adjustable brightness to enhance edge definition for contour and angle analysis, and dedicated software performs contact angle calculations under different thermal conditions.
