Digital Polarized Stress Analyzer for Glass Bottles

Published: 8/22/2018

The SWY-I digitally evaluates internal stress in glass products using polarized light interference and quarter-wave plate compensation. It is suitable for quality control and laboratory analysis of glass bottles and optical glass per GB/T 4545.

Product Description

The SWY-I is a polarized light stress analyzer designed to detect and quantify internal stress and birefringence in glass bottles and other optical glass components. By combining a sensitive color plate with a 1/4-wave plate compensation method, the instrument enables both qualitative assessment of stress presence and accurate quantitative determination of stress values.

Operators can locate the maximum stress point by observing brightness changes under crossed polarization and then rotate the analyzer to null the brightness; the rotation angle together with sample thickness is used to calculate stress, with results displayed automatically and available for printout. The system is used by optical instrument manufacturers, glass plants, and research laboratories for routine inspection and process control in accordance with GB/T 4545.
